I have been doing a lot of research on these trucks the last week or so, and though I am getting a lot of info, what I really want to know, I can't find.
This is just in regards to F100 Bed styles.
Here's what I am finding out. If it's wrong, please chime in and let me know.
1961 was the first year of this bodystyle.
1961-63 offered the Unibody style truck.
Mid-63, they stopped the unibody and went back to the standard cab/bed design, and used the 57-60 bed on those trucks.
Step side trucks were also offered through this bodystyle run.
1964 brought along the new bed, etc.
That's about the extent of what I know.
The questions I have:
Was a shortbed fleetside offered in 61-63?
If not, am I correct in assuming my 61 was originally a stepside? (it currently has a 64 fleetside bed on it.)
If your '61 thru '63 F 100 came with a short stepside bed you could switch to the 57-60 or 64-66 styleside, however the '57-60 styleside came out as an option to the unibody in '62 for F 100's
