LED Swap

Here an LED swap I did on my bronco a while ago. I have seen LED swaps posted before, but all of them include repainting the cluster. I did not do that, and just though I would post it so you can compare the two. I used a write up that Rusty did as a guide:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...storation.html

Bezel removed:

The LEDs that I bought on Ebay:

Installed, I think I have one bad one:

and here is a comparison, I didn't have a good before picture, but you can see that they are brighter:

Good job man.

Now if only you can paint the cluster and then we can compare it to what it would look like with it that way?

Did you remove the filters inside the cluster? here's what mine look like without the filters.

Note: color looks more uniform in person across the cluster.

As far as the bad LED, LED's only work one way. Take that one out and rotate the bulb holder 180*, it should work.

The eBay led's are not as bright as the name brand ones. I too bought ebay ones and were not pleased so I bought name brand ones and will now but the rest for my truck. Price is very expensive, but the results are miles apart.

Which ones did you buy from ebay?

I ask cause I only buy from ebay and I have better LEDs than I found name brand wise. Difference is to know what to look for. You want bulbs with the largest chips possible then second you want to go with Cree brand chipsets over any other brand as they are a high quality chip same chips used in name brand high dollar LED bulbs.
