Can you guess the source of the sound? Listen for the clunk b/w 3 and 4 seconds. I just dropped off my 2016 Super Duty 6.7 CC LB 4x2 at the dealership. I'm afraid that they will say the sound is a characteristic but I never had the sound on my 2011 Super Duty 6.7 CC LB 4x4. This sound happens when I go from drive to reverse or when using the exhaust brake when towing. The sound does not exist when the transmission is cold only when it is fully hot. It will also make this noise when climbing a really steep hill in first gear with fiver and the torque converter needs to slip a little. Suggestions?
As far as I can tell all of the u joints are tight and the axial support is tight I only have 2000 miles on my truck.

Hi Averill7,
I want to notify your regional customer service manager; they'll work with your dealership to ensure the clunk sound you're hearing is resolved. To get started, PM me your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership. I'll get this escalated for you.
These trucks have long driveshafts in them and a slip joint if a crewcab (maybe supercab).. There have been reports of these clunking once warmed up and the guys that have gone in and greased those joints have eliminated the clunk. Otherwise it may be a little slack in the differential gear setup which is not uncommon or necessarily bad..

Thanks, I'll request to have the lubed slip joint. I definitely have one. I pulled and twisted on it by hand to check for slack. Didn't see any by hand
