Me too and I also really like Fred Miller's lettering on that truck. Today I see these horrible vinyl overlays covering nearly all the truck and I almost gag. Ok, sometimes I actually get a little throw-up in my mouth. And don't even get me started on the cheap magnetic signs from the '80s......

at the ford factory, burma jeeps were made for one person the driver. however they did have a jump seat that not all of them had the passenger faced the driver.

Since I never find cool pictures I just have to make remarks from the peanut gallery. Sorry. Way cool thread though.

i have a photo of a 1951 or 52 F2 that is cut down like that for a fuel truck, my friend that was a crop duster pilot for years had it for his operation, he got it from some airline company, i will have to post it on the 48 to 56 thread, but back to that 1940 fuel truck how about those front fenders!

Get rid of the reels on the fenders, put a windshield on and that would be one awesome 41 custom!! I'd love to find one of those in some old derelict hanger.

Just checked the N number and that DC3 was put into service on 3-40 for American airlines and flew the Rochester flag. Then leased to the military sometime in 1942. Since most DC3s could carry at least 800 gallons of fuel, it's doubtful that was the fuel truck for one.
BTW, I love prop driven birds almost as much as old cars, thanks for the great photo!

The one that I saw was in Holden Village, WA. They just drove it around up there. It was called the bomb truck. It had a flathead Ford 6 cylinder in it.

Here's a vintage photo with your's truly on the left. See, I come by this stuff honestly, so be careful what you buy for your kids! Pretty sure mine's a tonner express.... BTW, I drove a hundred thousand miles on my knees. Lake City Wa. about 1956.

Yes, we can see the golden ray was shining on you from the Ford gods at a very early age.

Cool pic, no right side door so probably a war surplus troop carrier, maybe? The DC3 and it's variants probably wrote a bigger section of our aviation history than any other plane.
No back to your regularly scheduled program.
