I've had this APCM (Auxiliary Idle Controller) laying around for a long time.
Installed it on my truck ('97 F250 - Manual) and cannot get it to work.
Parking brake pedal is set - confirmed with PID on IDS
Clutch is engaged - again, confirmed.
BOO switch not activated
APP and IVS are working correctly
All brake lights work.
The APCM lights up and functions but the RPM light continues to flash whenever you select an RPM - stating a fault.
Also tried a brand new one and same problem.
*i did convert this truck from an AUto to a manual but everything is exactly like it would be in a manual truck. Everything is new motorcraft parts concerning that aspect.
Also has a 6pos chip installed but I've read of others using both??
Do you have a manual trans pcm? That is exactly how the apcm in my crew is currently functioning, and it is a manual trans truck but it currently has an auto computer as its own was borrowed while it was apart. It worked fine with its own computer.
On an auto trans truck the APCM needs to see a park or neutral signal, and the if memory serves the park brake signal is not needed.

Yeah, I swapped PCMs.
Everything about the manual swap is complete and as it would be if it rolled off the line that way.
I wish there was a way to read what the APCM doesn't like...
