Drive train Grinding?

Hello Everyone,
I have done some research but no one else is having the exact same problem as me.

Everyone once in a while, while driving my 06 350 SRW at slow speeds, I hear a grinding noise coming from the left side of the truck. It is almost like a winding grinding noise if that makes sense. It will grind slow to a stop, and then I hear a clunk.

This is a very intermittent problem. The tires are completely shot on the truck, and I thought that would be it, but considering it is intermittent and the clunk I hear as I come to a stop I figured it could be it.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Check the brakes it may have a rock. Thats what i'd do first. If rotors are grooved badly that could be making the the noise. Could be a piston in the calipers sticking too I just replaced one on my 2011 f350 which was making a clunk as well.

maybe pop the wheel up, and spin it by hand and see how it sounds. maybe the bearings in the hub have gone or the front axle joints?

Rotted ebrake plates....almost guaranteed. Look at the (lack of) ebrake anchor pins and a rot hole where they once were. Time to pull the rotors, thats fun with all the munched ebrake parts floating around.
