Hi all
Awhile back I bought the Wings (by Stewart warner) 6 gauge set , all is working good except the Tach . The Tach is the newer style that works off Pulse per rotation (PPR) I have it set at 4PPR which the directions says is correct, old engines use 1/2 the number off cylinders . But my tach reads about 1100 rpm at idle and reaches 7000 rpm before the auto trans shifts (sounds more like 2500 rpm) My old Mini Tach reads correct .
I tried switch the PPR down (first tried 2-2.5-3-3.5 ) , but then it doesn't respond correctly at 3 the idle went down to 800 but tach didn't move quick enough at higher rpms . Anyone else have experience with this ? I am thinking i got a bad tach , still under warranty ,so that's an option .
I emailed S/W "wings" they gave me an RGA said they most likely will fix it, if not send me a new one. So i get to have a hole in my dash for the time being .
