Newest Acquisition - Heater
Ford Script Fresh-Air Heater! Everything there except, the blower motor, housing and inside ring. I found and ordered the housing, found the replacement motor, and PO that blocked off the fresh air hole left the inside ring in place. Need to start research and clean up... can still see the date on the back of heater...
Things I still need to find are; the Squirrel cage, screen, gaskets, defrost vents, defrost hoses, and the boot... Anyone have a lead on these?

Good find! My suggested sources:
Squirrel cage: A Parts Warehouse - School Bus Parts
screen: local hardware store
Gaskets: roll your own
Hoses: Dennis Carpenter
Boot: Our very own Firstrider - Denny can set you up
Vents: not sure
Don't forget the under hood valve and gaskets for the coolant tubes.

That is a very good find there Moe. Good thing you are in the Southwest, or I might mug you for those tubes.
Be aware that it is entirely possible that the water valve has a deteriorated seal. After 60+ years, mine let go around 18 months ago, and leaked coolant all over my floorboard. The nice thing, is that NAPA carries a rebuild kit for that critter. A bit of a PITA to install, but well worth the effort. Those valves were not made to be fixed, and are held together with crimped over tangs. If careful, you can bend the tangs back, and get the thing apart for repairs.
I think that when I did mine, I posted the part number here on the forum. Do a search and see if you can locate it. I advise doing the overhaul before you install it.

As for the other parts, FortyNiner has it pretty well covered. I think Carpenters has the air inlet gaskets, but are listed as for the 51-53 trucks. I was thinking they were the same, but could be wrong. Carpenter's defrost hoses aren't exact of originals, but look good, and fit well.
The only real issue I see is getting a hose to connect the blower with the heater core box. I haven't found anything that works yet. The other item is replacement *****. Unless firstrider is casting them, or has a line on decent originals, they are pretty much unobtainium.
Lastly, there was originally a seal that fit over the copper tubes on the water valve. It was installed on the engine side of the firewall. If you look in the parts manual you will see it pictured. No one makes these seals I am aware of. I do recall what mine looked like before it rotted away, and it was about 4" X 2 1/2" and around an inch thick. Looked to be made from a pretty stiff closed cell foam. You will have to roll you own.

Actually, the hose connecting the blower to the heater box is the boot from Firstrider, if I understand the reference. Additionally, the firewall seals for the tubes are available from Carpenter - heater tube seals.
I'm curious where you found the housing. Mine was fabbed locally by a supportative BIL with the right skills and access to the necessary equipment.

The seals that Carpenters sells may work with the nipples on the heater core, but not with the automatic temperature valve assy. The part number in the Ford parts book lists it as a 18595, and it has two holes for the valve assembly's twin connections. As I said in my earlier post, I well recall the one that used to reside on my truck.
It may be that the single hole seals from Carpenter is for the recirculating heater, and not the fresh air version. The parts book illustration does not show any seals for any other hose connection other than for the valve opening.

The seals I'm talking Front Fender to Fresh Air Duct # 8732, Fresh Air Duct to Blower Motor Housing #8734, Blower Motor Housing to Cab #18594, Cab to Inner Flange Ring #18594 and Control Valve to Cab #18595. I've have contacted Firstrider already... Thanks... there are lot of parts and only find half of them in my Text Parts Manual... they are shown in the Illustrated Parts Manual.... It's enough to **** me off

As was stated in a previous post in this thread, the other seals/gaskets you will probably have to roll your own. I know when I last had my heater apart in the late 80's, I had to cut all my own gaskets.

Yeah, the #18595 is clearly shown in the illustrated manual, but the text shows it not at all.

I'm planning on checking with Firstrider about the gaskets to see if he's making them and out of what... Cork gasket material is what I've thought about using to make them... Not sure what thickness to use yet.
