'97 2WD with rear LLS is a shock problem. Monroe ReFlex rears not made for this combo. This would include Monroe made Rancho RSXs (same thing). Check carefully, the problem is even Rancho's site just says 2WD rear shocks with no warning or mention of LLS difference. I'm sure a call to a good CSR will solve the problem but watch out for parts stores, etc. I found the same delema with all shock brands I searched. Some said NO to rear LLS and others said nothing about LLS? Monroe makes a Sensa-Track for 2WD LLS but I am sure others are better shocks. I am content with my Sensa-Tracks (just driving on the roads, too old for the dirt). 4WD 4 point LLS????
I looked close today and it is 4wd LLS at all corners. Is there not a upgrade or swap for this setup? Rear looks to use standard shocks? with the bags.
You'll need an input from one of the 4WD guys. There are numerous threads extolling the Bilsteins and many have 4 point leveling I am sure. I am sure 4 points are available. Monroe shows Limited Edition Shocks for 4 point. I don't even have an idea what they are. Monroe has Reflex (Rancho RSX) for non LLS 4WD only. Just be sure you know it is 4 point (air shocks front, air bags rear). I don't think 4WD comes with just rear LLS anyway.
If you have 4 corner air, then get Bilstein heavy duty's for the rear. You will be glad you did for as long as you own the truck, regardless of miles. The ONLY place you can get the air shocks for the front is at your Ford dealer. 112K miles and still riding and handling great....

I got the link just like you from forum member njxlt in June..
Great board isn't it?
With regards to the LLS (Rear only) ; Does anyone know why certain manufacturers have differnt shocks for LLS and one without? Other manufacturers list only one shock for both applications. Anyone out there know what the difference in the shocks actually is?

I don't know what the difference is but if a company like Bilstien has a different shock for the LLS there's a reason. I'd go with it.
The price is the same for the LLS model.
Different part #.
So it looks like my best option is to replace my LL fronts with with OEM LLS replacements and swap out the rear shocks for the Bilsteins.
Thanks for all the feedback!!!
