Has anyone seen a hood that has a Ford script on it that looks like this? I would like to see pictures of these, broken or intact. Thank you in advance.
I have seen several '42 trucks without the Ford script embossed into the side of the hood. I have never seen a smooth hood with script added like that. It is probably an early '42 hood.
I am loaded up on vehicles right now and low on cash. I need to sell a 71 Coupe DeVille first. Plus what to do with a fire truck. They are;t good for much unless you strip off the bed and put something on you can use.

So you're saying the beautiful Black Hills never catch on fire? Or a neighbor's house? For some reason I'm pretty heavy on vehicles right now and equally light on cash as well....... It is a real nice looking truck though and of course low miles. And I'm guessing cheap for what it is.

No, no, a thousand times no. Fire trucks (and firemen) are precious and meant to stay that way. I pumped water with my 1940 (for two hours) for the first time last month and am still in a state of euphoria.
Out local fire dept has a 35 or 36, open top and no doors. They keep it nice and get it out a few times a summer and drive it. But as for me, old fire trucks are pretty much parade vehicles, which I don't need.
There is a micro brewery in the old downtown fire station in Rapid City (aptly named The Firehouse). They have stood old fire trucks on end for road signs along I-90. Sad.
If my house is ever on fire, I hope the respondents aren't driveing a flatty with 6 something gears, lol.
You wouldn't want me coming to put out a house fire with my 5.14 gears either. Sadly I don't have a Ford script hood for TC. I might consider buying the one Willowbilly3 found if I had GB nearby to mentor me in the fine art of patina and jailbars.
How's this? 1942 Ford/American LaFrance from a fellow SPAAMFAA member. He has a 1941 (just starting restoration) and the fully restored in immaculate detail 1942. I asked if either had the script and he emailed the picture. Rest assured it is concours quality correct for a 1942 Ford truck.
