Re the g series L6 spare parts.. I am trying to source new parts for a full recon. Does anyone know if these parts are available OR would I be better off trying to find a h series L6 block. if so would the h L6 motor bolt straight into the 42 chassis. I know I can get a full gasket set for the h series what would be my main problems ( apart from cost) doing either of these motors up . looking forward to any constructive comments regards this, cheers guys.
There are some parts laying around but not as many as the V8. Electrical things abound, but water pumps were in short supply when I did mine. Welcome to the nightmare! We love pictures.
I never seem to have his info, but Bob Selzam from NJ has lots of ford truck parts, most NOS. His business is called 'half ton fun' and if you google it you will find him. Dealt with him over 30 years and he knows his stuff. He doesn't believe in the internet so he works by phone and mail and he sends you a bill along with your parts and expects you to send him a check. I always do...

GB i was going to post Bob Selzams Ph No but someone already did his place is in toms river NJ, i bought a lot of NOS parts for my 1935 Ford truck from him, i havent bought anything from in several years and I was wondering how
hes doing, the man is a sharp cookie when it comes to older truck stuff, and his prices were reasonable.
Bought 59ab rod bearings from him last winter in NOS ford cardboard box. 95 bucks. About a third less than the big time vendors with aftermarket stuff. He always answers the phone with one loud word, and sort of gruff at that. PARTS! Then I tell him it's Gary from out in Washington and we settle in a bit about what I dragged home this time. He's a prince of a guy, and defines 'old school'.....
the first time i bought parts from him i must of repeated through the process of what i needed it was a 35 1 1/2 ton truck maybe 4 or 5 times. he stoped me in the conversation and said look we established the fact that its a 1935
1 1/2 ton truck ( in that gruffy voice) now what else do you need, always a fond memory, when i decide to do the 45 ford 1 1/2 ton i hope he is still around.
thanks for the info G B & Lee, I will see if I can contact Bob and see what he has for the g series L6 I am thinking mainly valves, guides and valve springs , plus gaskets , exaust ,head and valve chamber covers etc cheers onepu

This exactly! Always get the same "Parts", then it takes a question or two to see if he is in a good or bad mood. Really a great guy and he KNOWS Ford parts.
