header clearance/oil pan
Noticed that one tube of my driver's side header is very close to the oil pan flange/rail. Like less than a 32nd of an inch. Will this destroy the cork gasket and cause problems or is the thickness of the block wall and gasket surface there enough to act as sufficient heat sink?

With the engine fan and just normal air flow when driving, I don't think you have much to worry about - I remember my headers were pretty close at the same point, and never had an issue with heat and that's with some hard 4x4 action.
