Last week the power stearing pump bracket broke on my '79 F250. After having to remove the pump to get the pully off to get the broken bracket off to make the repair.................., I now have the low power stearing fluid noise common to alot of Fords. I have filled the pump, and run the stearing back and forth to the stops several times. My question is will the noise go away after I work the air out? Do I need to do something different?

Jim,
Keep an eye on the fluid level. It will quiet down after awhile.
It shouldn't take more than a day or two.
How long has this been going on?
Make sure the fluid level is correct and you'll be OK.

The pump never ran without fluid. When I took the pump out to replace the bracket, I had to drain the fluid.
The noise only started after I put every thing back together. I have only driven it a few miles, but it seems to be getting better.
