Alternator

I am in the process of purchasing a 2016 F-350 to pull my new Cedar Creek 5th wheel, which weights 8 tons. The salesman asked me if I wanted a second alternator? He did not know, and I don't know, if the batteries on my 5th wheel are being charged by the F-350 as I am traveling down the road, and would I need the second alternator for that?

I don't know either, but what kind of wuss are you that you wouldn't reflexively opt for a second alternator? Seriously?
