value question?

value question?
I know this is a opinion type question with geography location playing a huge part as well as originality, level of mods, etc etc etc; but here goes: I'm curious as to what the value of the 73 to 77.5 highboys really is at current time?
I've seen clean, well maintained, highly original rust/rot free regular 73- 79 2WD versions go up and up(from around $3K to $5K a few years ago)to now where a $15K to $20K truck is not unheard of here in New England.
Are the highboys moving in this same range?
I know the real answer is "whatever the buyer is willing to pay" but I'm getting curious if these are the next "early bronco" type vehicle to take off, value-wise.
Thanks

I would say, in the 73-79 group, that "Highboy's" are the ones to have long-term, for collectibility. In spite of their downfalls, they are the ones everyone wants.
However, while I see very high priced resto-mods from time to time, the nicest dent in the world caps out at 15k, for me personally.
Also, I really believe that TV greatly misleads people as to the value of various cars. I'm fully aware of the recent Mecum sales of a few models of these trucks, but I think as a rule, your average "nice" Highboy is a 7500-10,000 truck.
As for the, "next early Bronco" people have been misled on those also, as I see very nice examples in the 15-20 range, like 9 out of 10s quite frequently. I know Gas Monkey got 55 and some hookers for theirs, but it's just not the real world market

I live in Connecticut. i have noticed the prices rising for these things. some guys ask way to much for junk then there is a original or good resto going for 15k I dont know if they are selling at that price but i noticed the rise in price.
I would think they will become more valuable . Is the sweet spot to start buying these parts trucks and rebuild them for big money or sell parts, who knows . will they ever be worth a 67 chevvelle ss or 68 mustang ? will see!

That guy probably gets 75% of his asking price just from the descriptions and the pictures.
I agree his prices are definitely on the back side of the bell curve, but having a nicely put together website, lots of pics probably helps him tremendously.
Not to mention a high asking price certainly helps discourage tire kickers who have no means to purchase any way lol.
I guess where I'm coming from is simply, they aren't Hemi Cuda's, and they'll never bring that kind of money. As a matter of fact, ordinary Cuda's are still quite affordable, but people see big Barrett-Jackson numbers and go nuts.
However, they are loved, people do like them, and people did treat them as disposable for years. I bought a 78 2wd for 75 dollars once, drove it home, used it to tear the cab off a Supercab I didn't have the title for and got for free then flat-towed the whole mess to the yard, got 110 dollars, and went and got drunk and chased trailer park girls all weekend.
So will value go up? Absolutely. Will anyone ever give up six 50k for your bicentennial freewheeling Explorer XLT with cruise Highboy? No flipping way, at least not until 50k is only worth 15 in today's money
