Drive shafts,one section/two sections

What configurations have one section drive shafts and two section drive shafts with intermediate support?
Are all the drive shafts steel or aluminum or mixed?

We have the 157" wheelbase (crew cab + 6-1/2' box) with 4x4. Our drive shaft actually looks like 3 pieces, and they are all steel. There is a support in the center & there are 3 universal joints. I say it "looks" like 3 pieces because the aft section has a flexible covering mid-span. I can't look inside w/o taking it apart, but I'm guessing it is some sort of splined expansion joint.

The two U-Joints at the TC make a CV(constant velocity joint),
The flexible cover is a boot that protects the splinted slip joint from dust and water.
Would consider this configuration, a two section design.

The Super Cab 6.5' box & Super Crew 5.5' box both have 145" wheel base and both incorporate a two section steel material with intermediate support bearing on XL trim as verified by actual inspection.

If the Super Crew 6.5' box with 156.8" wheel base has two section steel drive shaft . then the Super Cab 8" box with 163.7' wheel base must also have a two section steel drive shaft.

Recently found a regular cab with 6.5 ft box in XL trim level with 3.5l NA engine and physically verified the drive shaft is one section aluminum material with 122.4" wheel base.

The regular cab with 8 ft box has a 141.1"wheel base, steel or aluminum?
