New Evaporator Core

Anyone know where to get a new evaporator core for a 1978 F100 with factory AC ? The only one I have found so far is LMC and it is over $300.

Thanks

D5TZ-19860-A .. Evaporator Core-Use with factory installed integral A/C (Motorcraft YK-54) / Obsolete

Last MSRP: $543.70 / Dealer net cost: $271.85.

1975 F100/350 from serial number W00,001 / 1976/79 F100/350 / 1978/79 Bronco.

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

Try auto parts stores or A/C shops, because...more than likely, this is where LMC is buying it.

Not sure if the listing is up-to-date, but rearcounter.com shows one vendor with 22 of 'em:
D5TZ-19860-A | RearCounter.com | 22 found at 1 seller

Uh huh...
The same thing is listed on PartsVoice.com, but I chose to ignore both.

Collectors Auto Supply (Oroville WA: 800-414-4462) is in-famous for showing a quantity of 22 for 1000's of parts they do not have.

When you call they say they'll call you back (most of the time they don't) because they have to check the "warehouse" which I discovered, is another obsolete parts vendor located in Beaver Dam WI: Vintage Parts Inc. (877-846-8243).

Vintage Parts is only listed on the D2D (Dealer 2 Dealer-Ford dealer parts locator system). I looked, no one including Vintage has any.
