same here, got 21000 on my 02 V-10 CC . i would say it has happened maybe 5 times. you crank up , put in drive and almost GO, but not quite, in the cold season , no matter what i drive i always let the truck warm up a bit however, this little problem does not care weather warm or cold.
Had the same problem on my truck. Was finally able to pull a code and it was P0316. This code is misfire in first 1000 revolutions. Ended up being a coil pack that was flaky. Had it replaced and the problem went away.
If you put your foot on the gas and still does nothing the IAC can't be the problem cause all it does is let air in just like yer foot.
Sounds to me like a lack of fuel problem. something in the fuel system isn't allowing the system to build pressure...my 2 cents
I'd definitely investigate the problem Mscales reported. More than one vehicle design has given the 5.4L coil-packs some problems. Mostly with A/C condensate dripping on them.
I posted a similar problem awhile ago about cold starts even if it's not cold out! Only happens with a full or nearly full tank. Blackend tailpipe, smell, truck would shake on starting, would stall sometimes as I left the driveway? Thought a fuel pressure problem or kinked hoses. It's gotten better after 40K, it doesn't stall but still runs rich and stinks with an almost full tank. Other than that it runs fine. trimman
