Truck is a job 1 08 with 180k miles. I've been chasing this coolant leak for some time now and I have read many threads on here about it. I have a coolant drip from the lower corner of the radiator. Only drips when it reaches operating temperature and when it is cooling down. I thought maybe I had cracked the radiator, so I installed a mishimoto in last spring. The leaked stopped for a month or so and just keeps getting worse. I doubt that I cracked another radiator especially since it's the mishimoto one. I'm leaning more towards the radiator hose o ring but can't really look at it unless I rip everything apart again. Just asking if anyone has had this same trouble or any tips on what to look for.
did you look at the mishmoto site that shows what to look for to help with the rad i.e.- worn front cab bushings?
do you see white residue on anything?
- did you install new hoses with new radiator
- did you replace the o-rings on old hoses
- have you crawled underneath and looked up at the driver side bottom hose
- does the coolant run down the side tank
- have you tried pressure testing the cooling system
- did you seat the hoses completely when reinstalling
The driver side o-rings are easier to change than the passenger side....I had o-rings leaking but it was the coupling on the lower hose to the water pump. I also had a radiator leaking out the crimped seam....Pull the o-rings out and take them to Napa...Ford doesn't put a part number out for their system, but they will match them up.....worked for me.
