Clean Exhaust Filter noisy

I have noticed the last 6-7,000 miles on my 6.4L 2008 diesel that the cleaning of the exhaust filter is more frequent. Like yesterday it took 33 miles till it quit cleaning. Then today it cam on again and took another 35 miles or so before back to normal.
Also during cleaning it makes a whining noise and seems to be getting worse,
I lso notice if during cleaning cycle, I turn off engine, I get like something still spinning for 5 seconds or so then it stops.
The whining noise has got worse during "clean Exhaust filter" cycle.
Any suggestions?

How many miles/hours on the motor.

Are you making oil or eating coolant?

Sounds like your DPF may need cleaning.

Eating any coolant?

If not then perhaps the sensors fore and aft of the dpf need to be changed..maybe they are giving some false readings.

update

Any update on this? Same exact scenario for me... 08 F250 74,000 miles. Seems to get progressively worse as the days go on as it is cleaning more often.

Thanks

How far apart are the regens? What type of driving are you doing?

Do you make oil or loose any coolant?

My 2008 with around 80K miles did that until the regens would go on for 30-40 minutes and then start over shortly after a cycle was done. After a few days or so of that, my check engine light came on and it turned out to be a bad sensor at the exhaust filter. I had the sensor replaced, then changed my oil due to the prolonged heating caused by the regens and all was well after that. Good luck.
