Anyone else have this problem? I get a leg cramp just driving to town. Seriously though, the accelerator in my 89 7.3 is very stiff. It has a double spring that pulls the injection pump lever back when you let off the pedal (as does my brother's 94 turbo 7.3, but his is just as soft as can be.). I unhooked both these springs and the accelerator feels like I think it should and it still springs back to idle when I let off. Anyone else have this problem? I'm a little nervous about unhooking hte springs and leaving them unhooked. What do ya all think?
Even with the stiff springs mine would hang open once in awhile. It happened to my wife while parking in a campground and she about bought us a new motorhome. Both feet on the brakes till she got it shut off.
Well, the throttle is a cable and it could be frade (fraid) darn it, coming apart, inside the housing and this would make it work hard. Disconnect the throttle linkage from the pump and see just how hard it works by hand.
