MAF Sensor = MAP Sensor?????

Hi,
Ran the codes on my 1989 F-150 4.9 EFI and got a code #66!

That is "MAF Circuit below minimum voltage"

However I understand from research that my truck only has a MAP Sensor???

Trying to figure this out and fix to clear code, anyone have any ideas on this???

Thanks!

Maybe you should tell the computer it's MAP

Maybe you should try another source for codes it might be for a different year

Correct Code 66 Definition: TOT sensor output was less than Self-Test minimum value of 0.15 volts. TOT= Transmission Oil Temperature.

That can be triggered by not warming up the engine and transmission before running the KOEO tests and stored code (CM) display.

Hi,
Hmmm...my code map index says #66 is low voltage on MAF Sensor???

Maybe as mentioned I have wrong index but it is suppose to be for OBD-1 computer???

Thanks Gentlemen that should mean I'm good!

Will look for another index!

Looks like #66 has TWO meanings!

What is your code reference? An '89 truck does not even have a MAF sensor so it can't be that. Note that the reference book for an OBD1 code reader like the Equus 3145 has two different sections... one for cars and another for trucks.

Hi,
In the Equus manual I downloaded it says (trucks) #66 MAF Sensor below voltage???

Admittedly I don't have the reader just a jumper wire and count the flashes on the "check engine" light!

Thanks!
