theyve been makin 4x4s a long time the first ones were built by marmon_harington but i think in 1958 Ford strated building their own for both 100 and 250. U can convert a 2wd to 4x4 by finding a crossmember to go under the tcase and find a tcase and also either find a 4wd drive tranny or have your tranny converted with a shorter output shaft and tailshaft housing. also u should use a lift at least 4in because the front crossmembers under oil pan are different in the fact that the 4wd ones are only perches wich means the axle pumpkin will hit the 2wd crossmember. Or u can find a trashed 4x4 truck that has good axles and components and swapp bodies.
