1989 f250 shift problem
I have a 1989 ford f250 5.0l v8. Tag on transmission says E9TA BA, which what i read was the M5R2. I can pull out in 1st gear, and when i go to shift into 2nd gear it grinds at first but then goes into gear, and i can't get it in third gear at all. New clutch kit, slave cylinder, master cylinder line, shifter repair kit, and pedal assembly. i'm told i need a new transmission. just wanted to get others opinions. is there another solution? what is causing this? i read the m5r2 leaks fluid. any input would be greatly appreciated. And if a transmission is needed, where can i get an m5r2 cheap? my last resort is the local u-pull-it, as it is unsafe to pull a transmission as the car are securely lifted. Thanks!
