Sometimes the sales manager will just put a couple trucks at unusually low prices so he's got something to advertise to draw folks in. Or maybe he was two trucks away from hitting some holdback milestone? There's so many possible reasons, us ordinary joe's can't hope to figure it out.
Sounds like a great truck. The 301A package has all a guy really needs. For me, the 3.55 axle would be my top choice. 3.31 is also great.
Welcome back to the world of trucking, hope you don't miss your Prius too much.
I'm sure I'll be missing it for putting around town when gas goes up! It was a great car despite the stereotypes of those who own them.
Got the first bed scratches last night hauling concrete for a fence project. 1,000 lbs seems to make it squat a bit more than my '13 did, but certainly not an excessive amount. Hard to tell in this pic because the truck isn't on level ground in this pic:
Snapped some photos after we unloaded, the color is growing on me!
Nice looking truck Tom and I see you put it right to work!
Glad you were able to get such a good deal on a nice truck, equipped with what counts! 4x4, 3.5L Ecoboost and 36r, enjoy your new ride. How do you like the ride height difference from the Prius?
Trailer doesn't look level, may need to adjust the hitch.
man, I've been spending too much time in the "help me adjust my WD hitch" threads . . . .
Ha ha, perhaps! I'm okay with the nose slightly higher, but not any more than that. It looked better empty, but I think the trailer sagged a couple inches under the weight.
Sorry everyone, I just can't stop taking photos of it. It's quite ridiculous, but I'm sure it'll wear off soon.

I think you're going to fall in love with the 3.31's if not already. With the lighter weight and same drivetrain as previous, you should feel tons of power and enjoy decent MPG's as compared to your 2013 tow monster.
My daughter had a softball "fallball" tournament yesterday at Ferrum College in Ferrum, Va. They are located close to the Tenn. border and that's a 260 mile ride for us. I filled up in Ferrum before getting underway to come home and with my smaller gas tank, driving through the mountains half of the trip and doing 75 MPH, I burned just under 12 gallons of gas. No complaints here!

Wish it had 3.31s Tim, but this one has 3.55s. They were trying to move this one, it was $3,500 cheaper than all the other trucks they had with similar MSRPs, which brought it into my price range. I would have preferred 3.31s, but with the deal going on this particular truck I wasn't about to let it get away! Truck is a rocket ship though, quicker than any truck that I've had before. My '13 was a close second, but the lighter weight makes the new one feel snappier.
Still got an indicated 22.1 MPG on the 82-mile trip home from the dealer, much of that at 73 MPH. My '13 sure wasn't capable of that.

That's amazing Tim! Just a decade ago it was a tough thing to hit 20 with a pickup truck. Modern trucks sure haven't gotten any smaller either!
Not to turn this into an MPG thread, but you guys are either beating the pants off my truck or are believing the Lie-o-Meter. Or both. I'm getting more like 17 - 18 MPG when calculated off the actual amount of gas the truck takes, and I have recorded every drop since new. Plus, you can't drive any more conservatively than I do. In fact, the throttle on mine has never been fully open.

I'm believing the lie-o-meter because my truck has about 220 miles on it and I haven't filled up yet. Bought it with 71, and still showing around 3/4ths of a tank though. I've never seen one be perfect, but the one's I've had in the past have always been within 10% or so.

I'd recommend that you do so at least once in awhile. Mine hasn't seen WOT yet, but it's come close a couple of times.
