Hello everyone! I just found your forum and joined since I recently purchased a 1993 Ford F-250 4x4 with a 460 in it. I am doing some normal replacement of wear and tear parts just as a precaution.
I have run into one thing that strikes me funny. The PCV valve on this truck is one that pushes into the passenger side valve cover. I went to NAPA to pick up a new one and the one they show for this truck is a screw in type PCV valve.
I did have the original part with me and it's motorcraft so they pulled the number of it to look it up. the pcv matched up to one from the late 70's to early 80's. However, could be used in the 460 up to '91.
According to the original owner, this is the original motor so all this is striking me strange. Has anyone else ever run into this with pcv valve? I know its a small part. its just bugging me.
So the screw in type is behind the throttle body. hmmmm... i appreciate all the help. i'm going to dig around this weekend to see if the original is there.
