The previous owner has done a hasty job at wiring the trailer connector on my 1990 Bronco II. All trailers here in Finland have separate brake lights and turn signal lights, and now the wiring is done so that the turn signal lights on the trailer light up for both brakes and the turn signals, and the brake lights don't light up at all. I know there is a converter (called 118158) that separates the signals, but it costs a 100 dollars to ship one to Finland.
So, I'm wondering if there is another spot where I could steal an isolated brake light signal apart from the actual brake light switch? I can get the turn signals from the front and running lights from the trailer connector, the brake lights are the only one I haven't been able to locate, apart from the brake light switch at the pedal...
If you don't wnat to use a convertor, that's what you will have to do, use the signals from the front of the vehicle and use the brake signal directly from the brake switch, and run all 3 wires all the way to the rear.
