Seems to be a mixed bag of love and hate for the new Super Duty. Personally I think it looks pretty cool. The lower trim lines look better IMO...XL, XLT's...Not a fan of the overly gaudy King Ranch and Platinum models. Even decked out XLT's can get a bit blingy for my taste.
With that said though, I really like the looks of the truck overall. It's essentially a modernized refined version of the Current Super Duty, and I feel like Ford did it justice and kept the truck true to it's heritage while still retaining the same initial image. In other words it looks fresh and new, but even looking at it from a great distance you could still identify it as a Super Duty.
On the topic of Powertrains/Drivetrains. I might be in a minority here, but I mostly excited to see what upgrades have been made to the 6.2L V8. I figure it'll now produce numbers similar to or slightly above the 6.4L Hemi currently used in Ram's HD truck line. 425ish hp and 450ish lb/ft of torque sounds good to me, Also curios to see how the new Torqshift-G transmission plays out. I admit I'm a little surprised they didn't offer the 10-Speed out of the box, though I'm almost certain that it'll wind up being used in the next few year models. I also have heard rumors of the 6.7L Powerstroke being bumped up to 500hp and 1000lb/ft of torque. If so then...Wow...Just...Wow...I remember when the 6.0L came out in 2003 and everyone was crapping their pants because it made 325hp and 560lb/ft of torque. It's amazing how far they are pushing diesel numbers now. I was also a bit confused when I read that the V-10 engine would be an option...I initially misunderstood, (Because the article I read failed to clarify that the V-10 was going to remain as a chassis cab only option). I know there's been a lot of speculation of what kind of mid range engine Ford might offer in the Superduty. Be it a larger displacement V8 or even the return of V-10...Or something along the lines of an Ecoboost 5.0L. Personally I would love to see a large displacement V8 work it's way back under the hood of Ford trucks...Something along the lines of 7.0L's would be nice. But who know's, maybe Fords beefed up the 6.2L enough that there's really no need for a middle man engine. Only time will tell. By the way, has anyone heard if the V-10 will be upgraded? Or is it going to plug along in it's current form as it has since 2005?
I'm glad Ford fixed those ugly *** rear fenders on the dually models. Usually changes to a vehicle can grow on me over time, but those never did...Though the new fender flares don't look fantastic...They are defiantly a step forward over the old ones.
On the topic of things I don't like about it...Well, the interior is way to busy...Not a fan of the 2015+ F-150's interior's and it appears the Superdutys are following suite. Only makes sense considering they now share the same cab...But it's just way to busy for me and not attractive. But that's a minor gripe and certainly wouldn't sway me out of buying one of these trucks if I were in the market.
In the end, I must say I'm impressed with the new Superduty, and if I were in the market for a new truck I would very likely be looking at a 2017 F-250 Supercab 4X4 or maybe even an F-250 Regular cab 4X4 either of which would have the 6.2L, but alas, my 2011 F-150 5.0L will be paid off in a few short months and I'm much anticipating having extra money to blow and a nice well maintained 4 year old truck. I don't need a brand new truck (or the corrisponding car payments) anytime soon.
I agree on the chrome. I'm a Lariat guy for that reason (it's the right balance for my taste) and will probably be again the next time around.
You were correct on the V10 only being offered in CC trucks just like it has been in the 11-16 MY's. Same deal going forward but lots of people were confused by some of the release articles.

The Lariat has the most chrome though, at least on the current generation.
At least the KR paints the bumpers and the grill surround, and the platinum paints the bumpers.
The Platinum paints the bumpers but gives you more chrome everywhere else. Mirror caps, door handles, tow hooks, exhaust tips, and running boards. I don't mind chrome bumpers. They've been that way forever. The rest of it looks like auto parts store aftermarket add ons to me.
True, I guess I forget that those additional chrome parts are optional on the Lariat. Seems I see too many people go for the chrome package.
The worst part is the chrome-clad wheels. Why anybody thinks those look good is a mystery to me. The 20" brushed aluminum wheels are the way to go, whether you get the Lariat, KR, or Platinum.
I like what I have seen of the 2017. But I need to see it in person. Right now I would buy it.
Personally I like the Crome-clad wheels. Not sold on the 6.2. I test drove a new 6.2 and I was not impressed. But that's just me. Good to have options.
I always go for the chrome package. I do agree the chrome clad wheels look kind of cheesy. On my current truck I did get the painted bumpers and wheels. I wasn't sure at first but now I like it. I liked the XL right out of the gate. It's taking awhile to get used to the grill. The 2017 platinum is growing on me. I liked the headlights from day one. It's just the grill that's hard to get used to.

I think most around here opt for the chrome clad because it holds up 100% better than the cheap cast aluminum Ford now uses in most applications. Cast aluminum wheels always corrode with the winter salt.
I'm just wondering why Ford just doesn't chrome the aluminum wheel. That will hold up better than a clear coat. Hell, I'm still wondering what happened to the forged alloy wheels.
On the style side, I've always ordered a Lariat with the chrome package and polished wheels. I've never been a fan of the cowboy wannabe truck, but the Mesa KR interior is pretty sharp. If I could only get rid of the tacky KR orange branding, and add chrome bumpers.
I might opt for a solid Mesa colored KR CC LWB this time around. I'm skipping the shorty this time.
You actually get chrome bumpers on the King Ranch if you order the monochrome package(which also removes the two-tone paint job, leaving you with basically the painted grill surround and the KR leather seats). It appears from the photos that the monochrome KR package will be available on the 2017 models as well(that off-white King Ranch in the press pictures).
And here's a monochrome KR in the current body style:
