Howdy, and questions. 69 F250 4x4
Man, did I find a good one. 59,000 mile 1 owner, in great shape under all the surface rust and tree sap. Has been sitting for years, but in amazing shape. I can post some pics if someone can tell me how, from my phone. Have been searching for a parts forum, but not finding. Need a radio bezel, and a few little things. Also wondering what year 16" rims will replace the 16.5"s as a bolt on. Not even a tear in the original seat, pass side seatbelts still in plastic wrapper, never used. Found a ticket from feb 1969 for running a red light under the seat.
Thanks,
trapperjack

Forgot to mention, headlights, brake lights, clearance lights, blinkers, horn, all work. starter froze up. Interior lights, dash lights (except high beam indicator and blinker indicators) don't work. Nothing from radio, and no fan/heat/defrost. Rear brake drums almost locked up, will turn but barely. Found control cable for Ramsey winch under the seat. Cool!

Wheels... 8x6.5 bolt pattern. In addition to bumps, dents, bullnoses also take a look at Econolines all the way up to around 2012 IIRC for 16-inch wheels.
Electrical.. yeah, being inop that long will usually result in cruddy contacts. You'll just need to go system by system and clean the contacts, sockets, and such. Do a visual and look for chewed wires. Lastly, these trucks have a general deficiency in ground circuits. I always recommend adding additional grounds as follows:
-core support to frame
-cab to frame
-bed to frame
.... double check that the engine to cab bonding cable/wire is present. It is usually bolted on back of the intake manifold and spans to a stud on the firewall. Not having that one ground can wreak all sorts of electrical havoc.

Thanks y'all. Esp for diagram NumberDummy. I want to be your friend
Would love to toss up some pics, but they are on my phone, and not sure how/where to put them. Guess I should look more for apropriate threads for parts (still can't find parts forum) and should I start a project thread somewhere, if I can post pics. Got starter, $49 at O-o-o-o'reilly's, and a few hose clamps. Looking for some 16.5 roller tires, and will try to bust loose the rear drums. Used a little simple green and elbow grease and hit a few spots on the hood. There's actually paint under there. Sky blue I think. Cool

When you go to make a post/reply, you'll see icons at the top of the box you type in. One of the icons will be a yellow box with what looks like mountain peaks and the sun. Click on it. It will come up with a green box that says, From Device. Click on it.
On my Android, it comes up with several icons to click on. On my phone, my pictures are located by clicking on the Gallery icon. From there, I can either select Camera for pictures I've taken with my phone or, I can select Downloads if I saved pictures or diagrams I've copied to my phone off the internet.
Whichever I select, I can scroll through until I find the photo I want to post. Tap on the photo you want to post and it will begin loading the photo until it says 100% Complete. After that, click Select in the green box at the upper right side of the screen and a picture will appear like this.

Sounds like a neat pickup, I can't wait to see it. Seems like not too many 4x4s on the forum. Sorry I can't help you with pictures, I live in the stone age and still use a camera. One thing I do is resize my pics smaller so you don't have to scroll side to side to read a post. You can still keep the full size image if you want to.

Congrats on your good find! On my 1970 4x4 F250, I replaced my 16.5" 8 lug by 6.5 rims with 16" wheels as I was told that I'd have a much better selection of tire models when I replace the rubber. I haven't gotten around to selling the original 16.5 rims and tires (Goodrich 33" x 12.5) but I've been told there is a market.
There are all kinds of after market 16" rims, including those that match the original steel rims that came with these trucks when new. Paraphrasing another member, and putting Bill's (Number Dummy) always accurate info in a narrative format (although I'm not as accurate as Bill) : Ford used 8 on 6.5 from beginning of time till 97. Ford went to metric 8 by 170mm in 99 (the Superduty).
You'll find a bunch of knowledgeable people here, as well as on the Fordification website (dedicated to bumpsides-'67-'72).
Check LMC or Dennis Carpenter for things like Ford letters.
These trucks were simple and strong (and stiff riding!). Pretty straight forward to work on, but keep in mind yours is 46 years old and parts age even when the truck is not driven. For example, the other day my rearview mirror fell off the windshield, not something that usually happens to a truck with 56,000 original miles. You'll find a lot of little things to fix as you dig deeper, but will be pleasantly surprised that many repairs can be done easily. If yours if free from cancerous rust, you should be ok.
Post pics when you can and welcome!

Thanks y'all. I've had several of these model trucks in the past, my fav being a 71 crew cab F250 4x4. Bought it while in Alaska, drove it home to Texas a couple years later. Really happy with this one. Going to start a build thread I guess, and put pics there, and ask my questions. Don't have a manual available anymore (lots of my stuff got thrown out during a divorce), so will have some questions. Attempting to load a pic to see if I can do it.
