Hello everyone, I purchased a paxton supercharger for my 1990 F150 4x4 with the 302. The supercharger is part #sn9220391 bracket # 48042. The person i bought it from did not have manuel. I need any info in regards to installing, changing the Type f Trans fluid that goes in it, parts list and any info toward supercharging will be helpfull. Also I bought 24 lbs bosch injectors and like to know what size fuel pump is commonly used and reccomended. It has a FMU with it but I think it is 14:1 because of its color silver(learned from visiting Paxton's site) what does that mean. Thanks for the help.
installing that blower on the speed density will have no adverse affects. the blower will not affect light throttle and cruise conditions and mileage at all. its when the gas is mashed that the mileage goes down. but i dont think anyone installing a supercharger is too concerned about mileage. ive been running a vortech race blower and 42# injectors on the stock speed density of my lightning for a while now and there are no driveability problems. the only time MASS AIR is needed is when engine vacuum is changed such as when you install a different cam. but however you will need a chip to run those injectors properly and i would suggest a 10:1 fmu for 24#ers. if you keep the 19# injectors than get a 12:1.
I don't have a Paxton on my 3 Ford trucks but I do have it factory installed on a sixties model car. I use a bulb sucker to change out the Type F fluid . Also, you need the air hoses, air filter & belts. Try to run high octane gas or you can destroy your pistons. My supercharged car has a special ground camshaft, solid lifters forged crank, aluminum timing gears (not chain)etc to take advantage of the super charger. Also, not sure on the engine timing as I run 24 degrees before top dead center. Also when you start your truck in the morning do not rive it real high or you wll destroy the bearings and rebuilds are not cheap. The fluid has to get to the bearings so take it easy the first few minutes on especially cold days. Paxton has a web page. They did sell off of there older automotive stuff to an independent guy in Calif. I will try to get the address for you over the week end. Gain from a properly installed Paxton with the engine set up for is about 30%. Good luck.
Hello again all, I know this is an old thread but I am need it as a reference. I am looking for a 155lph or so fuel pump that is direct tank replacement. It is a 1990 f150 4x4 with aft axle 19 Gallon tank. Thanks
What about going with an inline Walbro pump. That's what I use with my stock dual intank pumps.
What size did you go with and are you using a hobbs switch or running it all the time. What fuel pressure do you run. Do you have speed density still if so did you get a new program for you computer. Thanks
I use the 255LPH inline w/ a Hobbs switch set at 2 psi and higher.
I did convert to massair using the Ford Racing kit....not sure if they make it anymore.
Don't forget the dual tank trick! It's a harness and relay w/ a Hobbs switch that when energized it activates both intank fuel pumps. Hopefully you have dual tanks!

Also, look into the "2 pump trick" alot of the Lightning guys use this kit. It's a wiring harness, relay, and a Hobbs switch. When energized it activates both intank pumps providing plenty of fuel.
