Continuing AOD saga

FYI For anyone who has followed the saga with my AOD problems, I scored a touchdown with it this week. I ordered a shift kit from Baumann Electronics in South Carolina. $72.00 delivered to my door, cool thing about it is that it comes with instructions to alter the 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 shifts individually along with new gaskets and everything else you need. Once the valve body was out I completed the whole job in just over an hour. I went with "street performance" mods. In normal stop light to stop light driving it doesn't feel a whole lot different but stand on and be amazed! It shifts firm (not hard) at 5k to 55C and will chirp the tires when it does. It is the most-fun $70 investment I have ever made. I am using the stock converter with 3:50 gears and no other mods. There are also instructions for changing the shift points although I didn't go there. I highly recommend it for both the fun factor and the performance.

Glad to hear about satisfied customers...I have heard other good things about Baumann as well.

I have 2 vehicles with AOD's, I'm going to look into this as Ive never been real pleased with the 3-4 shift in either vehicle.

There is a modification where you place a tiny hard rubber/plastic block in a valve body passage that directs full engagement pressure to the overdrive band. That supposedly increases the band life by not allowing any slippage in OD as well as firming up the shift although it's not as "firm" as 1-2 or 2-3
