6.7 exhaust brake

Hi all
We have a 2014 F350 and like to know if anybody makes a exhaust brake that won't void warranty

Ford does but you have to buy a 2015 to get it.

Or a 2016 for that matter. I wonder when I get to try mine in the mountains.

Why not use the one already installed in the truck? All 6.7's have them.

Ford may call it an exhaust brake in the '11-'14 trucks, but, it's very minimal in its effectiveness. Most of the retardation felt is using the transmission gears when you downshift.

The '15 and newer are 100% more effective, you can hear and feel the exhaust brake. When you need it you can also feel it really take hold when you downshift and run the engine above 2500 rpm. It works very very well in the new trucks.

Any reasons why we couldn't/shouldn't drive with the EB on all the time??

I run the EB all the time on my truck. Seems that doing so changes the shift points some (waits longer) which kills the fuel economy (like there was any to begin with) but it really saves on the service brakes. Most days in traffic I don't ever touch the brake pedal.

6.7 exhaust brake

I use the exhaust brake all the time in the Colorado mountains. It works really well when I'm dragging my toy hauler fully loaded (15K). Really glad I have it.
Sorry, I don't have an answer for you as to adding an exhaust break but I'm so pleased with the one on mine 2015 I had to post about it.

Isn't that harder on the engine over the long term? I would think changing brake pads would be the more economical way to go. YMMV

Appreciate the responses. One of the first things I do when I start down the road....recirc on(wish it stayed in the last selected setting) and then push EB on. Couldn't agree more...works great in traffic and when pulling a load. 100% improvement over the EB in the '11 6.7.
