V6 F-150 question

I had this conversation with someone today..Are they right or wrong..Im 'F' There going to be 'S' ::
F:Ford F-150's can come with a V6
S:thats not the orinal V6 engine
S: its modified to fit in 350 cc
S: smaller block and drive shaft
S:more compressed power
S:more compressed power=too much tourqe
S: too much tourqe=extra hard on suspension
S: extra hard on suspension=transmission problems...ultimalty blowing the tranny
S:not an actual V6
S: modiefied
S: by Japanese
Are they right..There 1st argument was that Ford F-150 coudnt come with one...then I showed them mutiple F-150 V6's ..lol.. Are they right? Thanks

V6 F-150 question

FreeAgent,

Your friend S is full of just that.....S***!

I'm pretty sure that the 4.2 liter V-6 was a NEW design by Ford (not the "Japanese") to replace the 300 I-6 that Ford stopped making.

The I-6 had plenty of torque so its replacement also has good low end torque for its size.

"Too much torque" is just a stupid statement. I think the engineers at Ford, who designed the engine, are capable of matching it up with a tranny, rear, suspension. etc.

The other statements are just too stupid to address,

Bill

V6 F-150 question

I think I recall reading somewhere that the 4.2 was a variant of an earlier V-6... the 3.8L. Found in older Fox bodies (Mustangs, Fairmonts, T-Birds, etc) and.... in the early 80's ('82-'83) F-150's!! It's not a Japanese design, it may be German.

V6 F-150 question

As far as I know the 3.8s and 4.2s are an American design. The 4.2 is just a bored and stroked 3.8. I've only ever seen one 3.8 in a F150. It was in our old shop truck. A real gutless wonder.
The 2.6,2.8,2.9 and 4.0 are German designed.
