A/C Compressor Clutch Replacement
This is my first Post, so please forgive any screw-ups. I have a 2003 F-350 6.8L V-10. The A/C Compressor Clutch Bearing self-destructed the other day. (after rattling for about a week) Fortunately I was able to remove the assembly, inspect the Compressor and Shaft, all appear OK. I began to install the new Clutch Assembly but am having a difficult time getting the rear plate to seat back to original position and am even more concerned about how to seat the bearing/clutch plate assembly. Is this even possible to do with the Compressor Installed and if so are any special tools required? The proximity of the Assembly to the Fan Shroud, hoses, etc. is making this job very difficult. Any suggestions or install techniques would be greatly appreciated.

Light press fit for the coil , a brass hammer or rubber faced dead blow will seat it . Same with the bearing pulley assy. Front plate slides on , adjust the gap ...
You can loosen the compressor and tilt it forward , or pull the fan and shroud for better access . It can be done .
