6.4 or no?

Hey all, I'm looking to move into the diesel world. Love the Fords and have a '06 150 now. My question is whether or not the years with the 6.4's are worth buying with the obvious mileage and condition of vehicle. I have done a lot of reading about the 6.0's and all of the problems associated with them. Now the 6.4's have also had a few issues. Now the rumor that I'm getting is to stay AWAY from the 6.0's and the 6.4's. But I see so many on the road today and those are more in my price range that I want to spend vs the newer 6.7's. I'd love to find a '11 model with 6.7 but it's hard to find one with low enough miles that I can pick up for 27k.

What I want to know is should I not bother with the 6.4 engines and keep holding out for a 6.7 or go to a chevy, dodge or GMC?

Try looking for something else, unless you really like it, the chevy with the 6.6 you can't go wrong.

For the time frame you are looking at (08-10), the Duramax was the most reliable of the bunch. Do a lot of research before you buy anything. I'm not a fan of the 6.4, but that doesn't mean you couldn't find a good one.

Hold out for a 6.7 truck.
