Shift On the Fly issues

It seems that my SOF switch fails about every year on my '06 F-350.
I believe it's an actuator of some sort.

Is there an upgrade so I don't have to find out my 4x4 went out when I'm stuck in the mud?

Well for anyone that is experiencing the same problem I think I found a great video explaining how to diagnose the situation.

if it was my truck I'd just forget about the using the auto mode and just manually lock the hubs in.
