With the 2017's dubuting today has solidified my decision to buy a 2015 or 2016 6.2l. Since I'm looking for a truck with a 4.30 rear, how can I tell externally that it has them? Is there a sticker in the door frame maybe?
If you are looking at new it will be on the window sheet, if used there will be a tag on the rear end or use the door post code. Finding a 4.30 used will be hard, dealers just don't order them in so I would get a 2016 on order now.
Another way to tell is take it for a ride. With 4.30 gears the rpm's will be a around 2050@70mph. With 3.73 gears the rpm's will be around 1,800@70mph.

I'm guessing it you took it for a ride you could tell by the seat of your pants
When I ordered my 2013 I built it on the Ford site and sent it to 4 dealers close to my homebase, the one closest to me had the best price. We were on AZ at the time so it was all done by email until I had to give then a credit card for the down payment, thats the way I would do it again.
The truck I have picked out on the build and price comes out to 55560 msrp. Anyone take a guess at what invoice would be?
Worst thing you could do is Guess.
Since you built it on the Ford Site, now go to NADA.com and build it there, it will show Dealer invoice next to the MSRP invoice.
Since you are ordering you should be able to get it at Dealers Cost or very close to it, like a $100 over.
Any Rebates/incentives are yours, be sure to have that in writing when you order your SD.
If you are a Vet, there is a $500 Rebate.
Sign up on the incentive/monthly info section on the Ford Build Site, Ford may send you a additional $Rebate, mine was $750, be careful and don't sign up too soon as this Rebate does have a Time Limit on it, give the SD a good 3 1/2 weeks on order.
You may have to check with different Dealers to get the best price, some dealers deal good others just won't.
Going to be tough to find a used SD w/4.30 gears, tougher finding a New one w/4.30's but there are a few out there on Dealers lots.

Thank you all for your responses. Hoping head into the dealer tomorrow and start working on everything.

Invoice on it looks to be around 52k. Hope there is gonna be some available rebates. Anyone think I'll be able to get close to around 10k off msrp with everything. Or is that just diesels?
I ordered a 2016 Super Duty, white metallic platinum with 4.3 gears 1 Sep. I used True Car, USAA and military discount to drive down the price then like above let 3 dealerships battle for my business.
I have a question for you guys who let dealerships battle against each other for best price when ordering new.
Do you notify each individual dealer of all of the other dealers that you've also sent the offer to? Or do you keep them in the dark regarding who and how many other dealers their competing against?
I'm guessing all dealers are in communication with each other anyway on this sort of thing - to prevent any of them from taking too much of a bath. So maybe it's unnecessary to notify them of their competition. But maybe not??

I just sent the dealers a build sheet from the Ford site, I'm sure they knew that they weren't the only ones. Of the 4 I sent only one didn't give me a price, I also had photos of my trade with vin number so they knew what I had.
