If you go the JY route, and I think it's probably the only way you're going to find this part, don't assume that a '70's Econoline door hinge spring will work. They may look the same, but they're not and won't interchange.
I know this fact from experience.
Also, the passenger door spring will usually be better than the driver's side.

You're welcome! I didn't blast it, though, just soaked it in some degreaser for a few days, and the little bit of paint that was on it just wiped away. A little Krylon and then to you. Glad you got it.
