I found an Express Bed for my F3 build but, the seller wants to sell the whole truck.
I can use the bed, running boards, the end bracket for the running boards, rear shock mounts and the front fenders are in better shape than mine so it would save me some work.
The best thing is it still has the original 16" wheels and hub caps. The wheels are in great shape. The hub caps have a lot of dents but has all 4.
The truck is solid but, no engine or trans, glass is shot and truck is full of trash. Someone did a butcher job engine swap in the past. All that gone now.
I am going to make an offer on the truck. I know what most of it is worth except the wheels.
Any input? I'll keep them if I get the truck and part out the rest. Maybe put my wheels and stake bed on it and try to sell it complete.
I'm cheap and I'd pay $50 per wheel for good F-2 wheels.
I like your idea of swapping parts and reselling it as a complete truck. You might make a little more money parting it completely, but you have to store everything while you slowly sell stuff.
The owner went to buy tires years ago and asked if they had a matching rim so he could have a spare. The tire shop manager offered him any wheels he had in stock in exchange for his original wheels and hub caps. Now he thinks they must be gold.
I know they are rare and desirable but, I have no idea what people are willing to pay for them.
I don't have room at my house for another truck. If my daughter lets me put one on the back of her property for a while, I may have this one tomorrow.
The original hubcaps were incredibly rare for a long time. Then reproductions came out in about 2003 and the original caps aren't that valuable anymore.
