Best Sus*****on

Hey guys, it's me again!

wondering about suspension. I'm stock right now, and the ride is fine, little rough even on street use. Want to level the front out (it's a little lower) while switching the both the front and back up to a more "comfortable" ride. Anyway have any suggestions on the best suspension kit to use?

Thanks,
Shermy

I'm not sure what your driving. TIT has a 69 f-100 drum brake front. He has a 4" rake (with the type of tires currently installed) We picked up a 79 f-150 disc brake front end. the f-150 springs are a little larger in diameter. This should pick his front end up about 2".

I'm soo sorry. I have a 1979 f100. Everything seems to be stock. So i think a 2 inch front lift is needed.

F-100? Are you sure? Not F-150, if so there are healthier springs you can stuff under it. Give it a minute, someone else might be able to chime in that has the hands on experience for bigger aftermarket springs.

When it comes to suspension, you get what you pay for. The best brands that I have purchased in my past have been Skyjacker('78 F150 4wd), Rancho('99 TJ), and Moog('77 F100 2wd) parts. I'm sure that there are others out there. Pro Comp('99 F250) and Superlift('96 F150) are pretty good but there are better. But I have also went on the cheap and regretted it not long after install. Warrior('99 TJ) and Rough Country('04 F350) have been the worst I have every dealt with. Warrior kit on my Jeep was just garbage, only lasted 4 months before I spent more money for the Rancho kit. RC was just that, rough and not worth it, IMO. Put a quality lift on it and you will be better off. While you are under there, replace all your bushings and ball joints too. Clean, inspect, and regrease all bearing in the front hubs. Flush the power steering system and adjust the gear box (if needed). After all that is done, get a front wheel alignment ant you will be set for a long time. I know it seems like a lot, but it will be worth it, trust me.

Skyjacker does have a 2" kit for a 4x4 F150. Check out their website.

Keep this in mind. When you install taller springs, after you take it to the alignment shop to get the camber fixed, it will drop it a little. I don't know the math.

Look at Moog products, NAP has them. It made a pretty big difference on my '77.

Lower the rear rather than raising the front to level it out. Maybe take a leaf out of the rear spring pack, & see how much that drops it. It will probably make it ride a little smoother too.
Just don't try to haul a ton of gravel in it.
