rattling after 20 mph

Hello all. I'm new to this forum and having trouble with my truck. I have a 96 Ford f250 7.3 powerstroke and after I hit 20 miles an hour the transmission sounds like it's going to fall apart. going faster just makes it sound worse but when I slow down under 20 it goes away. please help. truck has 260,000 miled

Is your truck a 4x4? Are the hubs locked in?

Check your drive shaft carrier bearing.
Does it sound like marbles in a can? if so torque converter.

Any vibrations or shaking? Or is it just noise? Have you checked the fluid level in the transmission?

All stock. Nothing but tires brakes oil and filters have been done to it. Been a good olé truck.

Does the noise coincide with when it shifts then starts.sounds like the intermediate planetary has imploded maybe? Without driving its hard to diagnose by remote control...

Just at 20mph it started. No codes just racket around the transmission. Just got louder the faster I drove. Got in it today and no noise. Gave it h#$! and still no noise. Still shifts fine. Idk
