The Rear gears are 3.73 It loves to drive around 40-55 mph. It really starts howling after 65mph. I mean rpm wise. Does that sound right for the tranny/rear combo?
I wish they had an OD tranny I could drop in that was easy on the wallet.
If the rear end is a Ford 9-inch with a three-seventy anything ratio, it would be a 3.70.
A 3.73 was a Dana (or a modern Ford 8.8") rear end ratio.
Numerically, three isn't a lot of difference between a 3.73 and a 3.70 but, it will make a slight difference in your engine RPMs and any calulations you might make, where the gear ratio will be factored into the calculation.
