POP QUIZ TIME

Went to an auction and got all kinds of good cheap stuff.

Mature mechanics should know what this it but I'll bet the under 30 crowd might scratch their heads a bit.

What is it and what is it for:

My $20.00 ultracool and working fan:

$10.00 for all (time and parts Chilton's not shown) total of 15.

What are these? Easy one.

Tomorrow I'll show you my $250.00 79 wrecker with Holmes bed and Braden winch. I just love auctions that stuff goes dirt cheap.

If I could look at it closer maybe could figure it out, but that first thing looks like something from the Jetsons.

X2 on that. It looks to be the influence for the next Pixar animated alien film.

That wouldn't have been my guess had a notice the little levers on the bases. I figured they weren't for big rigs since their hub bores are so much larger. For bubble balancers, they sure are low to the ground.

At first glance, I thought the first item was some sort of welding helmet.. that is until I saw the second pic.

Hmm I wasn't on this morning. Does it pop a distributor up out of the hole?

I like the fan the best. I bet that works well, though check for safety in terms of grounding. Also wonder how well it will work on a GFCI outlet. Many people learn the hard way that concrete is a pretty good conductor of electricity.

I always heard those bubble balancers weren't any good (probably said by the people who wanted my money for spin balance?) Although, better than nothing.
