Door Mirror Locating

Once again, it's time to put some parts on my truck. Door mirrors, in this case. The truck (1983 F250) didn't have any installed when I bought it and for reason I can't and don't want to fathom, the mounting holes and any trace of the original location has been bondo-ed over. So...anybody got any measurements so I can get the new tripod-style (for lack of a better term) style mirrors onto the truck as close as possible to the original location and not put any more holes in the factory sheetmetal than absolutely necessary? Lacking that, anybody want to upload some detailed photos of where their truck's mirrors are mounted so I can copy them?

How abut if you just remove the interior door panels and see if you can see or feel where the Bondo is?

This is just a zoomed in view of my mirror so the quality isn't great but might help position it. Is this the type of mirror you are talking about?
