If you force it open all the time your cruise control won't work

If it's anything like what was on mine there's about 4 or 6 wires going to that switch. The power circuit for the starter solenoid plus signal circuits for other crap like speed control servo.

What I did on my Ranger when the clutch switch burned up was just jump the two heavier wires together which bypassed the switch.

Find the bypass plug that Ford plugs into the harness on auto trans trucks. Should be easy to find at the JY.

The two red with blue are starter the next two are cruise control I've had mine jumpered for most of a year and have no idea what the last two do so they're provably not that important

I ran a jumper from my horn to the terminal on the fender for a week. Which worked great till I tried to honk at someone going down the road.....

All the trucks 87-96 with auto trans in the JY will have one of these plugs in the harness.

Where is it located? Is it under the dash down by the pedal assembly?

one other question for you guys... i changed my sparkplugs and i think a leaf or some crap got in the cylinder.. would that cause the engine to shake at an idle???? because it runs fine but it does kind of shake when the rpm's are low or its idling.... i also changed the fuel filter so i dont think its the fuel.... could it be the fuel pump????
