I getting ready to buy one of those camping tents in the bed and was wondering if anyone has used them. Likes/dislikes?

 

That sounds like an aftermarket thing ?

I have never seen one from the 67-72 truck line-up.

 

they fit any full size bed, and maybe I should have posted it in the aftermarket list. I'll try it there.

Hey 71_4X4_390! I like them myself. And the competition is better theses days. They're all trying to out-do each other with out raising the cost too much. The newer styles extend over the tail gate and are about a foot higher in the center. They fit really well in the bed. The windows are getting larger. The best feature is that when folded up, you can put it behind your seat. Anytime you need or want shelter, it's there for you. For $100-130 dolars, the dealerships should give them away with every purchase.

I don't have an SUV at this time, but I bet you could set that puppy up on a trailer when you get to your site and still have a great time! just got email cataloge from jcwhitney and they have truck bed tents now on special $179 for longbed and midsize, so go now dogg!.i have one from summit with mattress, acses to cab window , hookups for stake holes convinent doOrway and cool lookman.i was the only one who had one at every campsite from michigan to N.M last summer.
