Update: UnknownCubicle's '72

So on my "help!" thread, you guys were pretty awesome and I thought somebody out there might want an update.

The 390 is still exactly the same as it was, and the engine builder says he'll make it right as soon as I have the truck together so I can drive it away when he's done. I ended up buying a C6 on Craigslist out of a '60-something Galaxie or Fairlane; I can't remember. It's in the truck now, along with a newly cut-down drive shaft I had a local shop do for me. I ended up having to drop the front crossmember out to get the trans up in there, and now the headers interfere with the crossmember's ability to go back in. However, I have to pull the PS header out to get the starter back in anyway, so whatever.

I should have the whole thing together by Saturday, but I got a notice of suspended registration from the DMV to clear up weather or not I want to register it non-op, so I have to go in to see what the everloving hell they're talking about since I have kept the registration up since I got the thing.

Wish me luck!

Parts:
'73 390 with 9.5:1 compression, forged pistons and a big cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and Holley Street Avenger 670, Craigslist C6 with a new gasket and filter, TCI Saturday Night Special converter, stock 9 inch rear with (???) gears

OP will soon have a problem, as 7A256 is different on cars than on trucks.

Referring to the shifter bracket on the trans? Yeah, I figured that out. Nothing a drill bit and a new E clip won't solve.

True story. Especially if the tranny came out of a console shifted car.

Haha. Column shifted. The linkage fits fine, just the hole is a bit too small. No worries.

It fits fine but just wait till you hook up the linkage to it. The angle on the dangle is different cars vs. trucks.

Okay, so at the risk of sounding frustrated, what am I about to step in? The linkage fits fine, or will fit fine when I drill the hole in the bracket to fit the F100's linkage. I have adjusted it, and it's at the end of the threaded part, but seems to work fine. What am I missing?

Correctamundo.

OP: We're speaking of the manual control lever, 7A256 in upper pic.

Notice NSS (7A247). 1967/77 F100/350: It's located on the steering column.

As long as it can shift to Park, Reverse and Drive for now, I'm cool. If not, where and how can I get the part and install it?

I am assuming this C6 is going in your 1964? If so 1968 was the 1st year the C6 went in a Bump. So:
68/69 before ser #E10,001 F100/350 is part number C8TZ7A256B.

The thing is, you may not be able to with a car lever.

D2TZ-7A256-A .. C6 Manual Control Lever / Obsolete

1972 F100/350 360/390.

B. F. WHITE MOTOR CO. in Stanton TX has 1 = 800-953-3321.

Edit: I went with 1972, cuz your thread is titled: UnknownCubicle's '72.

Thanks. I will order it first thing tomorrow.

And as far as the '64 goes, that is a long memory you have! I bought what I thought was a '64 about 6 years ago and was wrong. It was a '65 with a swapped in 390 and a cruise-o-matic. The 390 is what I'm working with; the C6 along with it are in a '72 I bought last year with a blown up 302.
