Don't see a "Craigslist find of the week" like on the '73-79 forum, but thought I'd put this out there if anyone is interested. Don't know any more than the ad.

Looks like it's rusted though and rotten in a few places.... The front of the hood particularly.
My assumption is that whoever done the "restoration" was a pretty **** poor body man for it to look like that after only 11 years....

Ya, anything with rust is not a frame up restoration. It's not even a slight restoration. I'd call it "in progress."

With that much rust since a 'frame up' resto in just over 10 years? More like a spray and pray resto.

Look at the last pic in the ad. I could swear I saw rust in the dash. Now
that's a rusty truck.

That's not even spray and pray, that's spray and throw salt. Unfortunately most of it landed on the truck and rotted it away. I bet that thing is gone underneath.

a 69 with a 72 grille.. it is probably built from several trucks.. not that it is a bad thing.. unless someone is trying to do a real "restoration"

Is the paint just peeling or is it really that rotted? I'm thinking a "Krylon Restoration" was done not that long ago.
Maybe Earl Scheib? They were know to paint the seats if you didn't lock the doors.

I'd love to do an old crew cab like that! For $1500 does not look like a bad deal to me.

It is a bad deal. There can't be anything structural left if the outside looks that bad. The roads are salted in the northeast, and the propensity to rust is why you don't see those trucks there anymore. When I was living in CT, I saw one and only one 67-72 truck, it was rusted to death and obviously 90% bondo with a $2500 price tag on it.
This thing just got the rust sealed in by a coat of Rustoleum. The can may say "stops rust" but the paint doesn't.

I'm thinking there must be a rule of thumb with rust, like for every square inch you can see there are two you can't - until you start working on it.
When I did restoration work on old houses we were always finding huge pockets of damage hidden under relatively small areas of visible rot.
Looking at that truck I'm thinking it's pretty much a basket case. A parts truck at best.
