85 F150 engine/transmission issues

Ok so I have a 85 F150 with a 4.9L 300, New Process 435, and 8.8 rear. Today on my way home from work I shifted into 4th gear and got up to about 35mph when i felt a slight bump. After the bump I had no power from the engine to the transmission, I shifted to 3rd and when i hit the gas the engine rev'd but still no power to the trans. I pull into a parking lot and the truck lost its power steering and begin to jump spit and spudder. When I came to a stop the engine died. I started the truck back up put it into 2nd and rolled forward a bit and then stalled again. I started a truck a second time and placed it into 1st and was able to limp it to a parking spot. This time the engine stayed running. I hopped out of the truck looked under the truck and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. There was a little fluid coming from the booth around the clutch fork but nothing that was dripping or pouring out. I get back in the truck and was able to drive home with no problems what so ever. This is the second time this has happened the first time was a few weeks ago but I had brushed it off due to the fact that I had put the truck into 4x4 earlier and though that the transfer case had just jumped out. Can anyone help shed some light on where I need to start troubleshooting the issue.

Thanks in advance!
