New Car
Anyway, I have some observations -- I don't think that most are unique to Chebby. Seems to be the way of new vehicles.
I got an email from the car (OnStar free trial). It told me that one tire was 2 lbs low, and that my tranny and engine were fine.
Really -- I'm pretty sure that the diagnostic report just passes on any codes that are set -- probably with no more information than to "go to the dealer".
Would be nice if they actually had some useful info. Say a graph of how the oil pressure and engine temp are doing. Also a report on the battery volts (especially shutdown vs startup).
Battery really concerns me -- there's only ONE key lock -- and I'm not sure that it's not just a switch for the electric actuator. Not sure about getting into the car if the batt ever went dead.
And they're certainly working on that. There's some sort of manual mode for headlights, but they pretty much want you to use 'auto'. When you do, the headlights stay on for a fair bit after shut down -- I DID figure out how to kill that.
There are alot more things that I find odd ( can't lock the trunk without locking the whole car), but I'll stop here.
Probably this kind of stuff is old news for most of you -- i expected some of it, but good grief.
